3) Glass Beach at Fort Bragg On The California Coast
Ironically, the beauty of Glass Beach is the result of garbage! That’s right, after years of dumping bottles, window panes, and even cars on this California oceanfront, which surprisingly was was legal to do until 1967, the water has slowly chewed up and smoothed out an enormous amount of glass. The result is a beautiful rainbow colored beach that shimmers in the California sunlight. Visitors are welcome to visit the beach, take pictures and handle the beautiful smooth glass pieces that adorn the shore, but are asked not to take home any pieces of the glass. What was once garbage is now among California’s treasures.
