8) Charlotte, NC (CLT)
Southern Hospitality is what’s served up at CLT. They conduct passenger opinion surveys every 6 months to ensure that visitors’ needs are being met. This resulted in services like free WiFi and charging stations being added throughout the terminals. They also have a volunteer program which started over 10 years ago. It includes 70 volunteers working to make the passenger experience a positive one. There are 20 permanent and rotating art exhibits called “Just Plane Art” to enhance the environment for visitors. In 2012, the Charlotte City and Arts & Sciences Councils installed a 60-foot tall sculpture.  “Ascendus” was designed by Ed Carpenter to be an instantly recognizable icon identifying and celebrating the excitement of flight. There are ample shopping and dining opportunities, as well as a one-stop rental car facility which was added in 2015. It includes all available rental car companies, except Thrifty.
