Portland International Airport was named best US airport by Travel & Leisure magazineâs 2013 readerâs poll for on-time flights, dining, shopping and mass transit into the main areas the city. 2015 saw the addition of 10 new restaurants, making it a real haven for âfoodies.â In January, 2016, the first of its kind, in the world, airport distillery and tasting room opened across from gate C6. House Spirits Distillery features craft malt whiskey and vodka products, as well as limited release small-batches. Tours are given daily at 3 pm, with an additional tour on Saturdayâs at 1 pm. In the Spring of 2016 a mini-movie theater was added to the airport, which runs free movies no more than 15 minutes long. PDX is also the most bike-friendly airport with locals frequently riding their bikes before hopping a flight. They even have a bike repair station. So, if youâre an enthusiast, feel free to bring your bike to Portland. You can assemble it and be on your way right from the airport!
