2) Profile Rock
Also known as Old Man of Joshuaās Mountain, this granite rock formation holds the image of a manās profile. A popular attraction in the 1920ās, being the focus of a range of postcards, apparently the āfaceā of the rock only formed due to a dynamite explosion sometime in the 1800ās. Legend and myth shrouds the mysterious rock face, however normal its beginnings may be. Native Americans tribes believed that the face was their leader Sachem. The rock has been subject to graffiti from vandals in more recent years, but the shape of the rock is no less prominent and the face can still be seen. The rock is worth looking at and you can get the inside word from the locals on its formation and the stories around it.
