This country is often neglected by backpackers who are sweeping through on their way to neighboring countries like Peru, Brazil, or Chile. However, this country makes our list for its adventurous spirit, raw beauty, and, of course, kindness to our wallets. Bolivia’s landscape varies drastically; from mountains to valleys, from plateaus to salt flats, from amazon jungle to volcanic geysers. Considered the most remote and indigenous country in the western hemisphere, this is the place for those who really want to get off the beaten path. Adrenaline junkies won’t be able to resist the notorious Death Road, starting in La Cumbre and finishing 64km later in Coroico. Check out Lake Titicaca, South America’s largest lake and the highest navigable body of water in the world. Salar de Uyuni cannot be missed. The world’s largest salt flats make for some incredible pictures that will really twist the mind!
