9 Budget Vacations in Paradise

3) Yosemite National Park, California

Yosemite is known throughout the nation (and perhaps throughout the world) as an example of Mother Nature’s perfection. Its numerous waterfalls are best visited in the Spring when the snowmelt is at its peak, creating the most water flow. Yosemite Falls is one of the tallest in the world and the top can be reached via strenuous hike. Don’t bypass smaller falls like Sentinel with multiple cascades, or Horsetail, which glows orange when caught at sunset. There are also hundreds of miles of backpacking trails within Yosemite of varying levels of difficulty. Tunnel View and Glacier Point are some of the most spectacular viewpoints, accessible via road. There is no per person fee. A 7-day pass for 1 vehicle containing less than 15 passengers is $30. There are ten holidays honored by the park, meaning entrance fees are waived during those days. Happy Holidays!
