5) Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale is Miami’s more chilled-out, but equally fun and sunny cousin. The nightlife here is more subdued, but there’s miles pretty beaches, historical places, and ways to appreciate nature. Nicknamed “Venice of America” due to its many canals, Fort Lauderdale certainly has its’ charms. Tour these waterways via gondola boat. Learn some Floridian history and witness a killer sunset over the water. Explore the Everglades from Sawgrass Recreation Park or Everglades Holiday Park. Las Olas Boulevard is the bustling main street with a host of restaurants, art galleries, night clubs, and boutiques. The Riverwalk is another area to stroll and explore. You may catch a concert, food festival, or another local event. Fort Lauderdale has many ways to entertain indoors as well.
