St. Augustine is the United Statesā oldest city. Established in 1565, St. Augustine is sometimes referred to as the āAncient Cityā and was founded by a Spaniard explorer. The capital of Spanish Florida for over 200 years, St. Augustine has managed to retain many of its heritage buildings including churches, cemeteries, army barracks and a ācolonial quarterā.
