9) Nice, France
Don’t let the name fool you! People are not “nice” in Nice. Joking aside, Nice isn’t known for welcoming tourists. Visitors typically experience an impatient attitude from locals at least once during their stay. The abrupt and sometimes seemingly rude demeanor turns many people away from returning to Nice a second time. So, why does anyone go at all? Nice is a classy, cultured, and attractive city. Additionally, the small towns and fishing villages along the French Riviera charm the socks off almost everyone. Èze and St. Paul de Vence are worth a stop, especially if traveling between Cannes and Nice. The gastronomy scene of the local cuisine in various gourmet restaurants is exceptional. Check out the Old Town (Vieux Nice), stroll the Promenade des Anglais curving around the Bay of Angels, browse the flower markets, and visit the art museums. Nice may be unfriendly, but it’s quintessentially French.
