10) Marrakesh, Morocco
The cultural center of Morocco is other worldly. It may take a little mental preparation to enjoy it. The hectic crowds and street vendors in the well know square of Jemaa el-Fnaa in Marrakech are overwhelming, to say the least. The hustle of the vendors is intense. Snapping a quick picture of anything will likely result in a local approaching you within seconds, asking for money. People may appear helpful and friendly at first, especially if you are lost and asking for directions. Be aware: 99% of the time their helpful demeanor is a segue into a demand for a tip. That being said, Marrakech is a wild and untamed place that should be on every adventurer’s List. Tourists should sample the authentic and delicious food. You can explore the Old Medina and get lost in the labyrinth. Then visit the French-inspired Majorelle Garden.
