3) Venice Beach
Thriving on its reputation as the wild, far-out neighbor of sophisticated Santa Monica, Venice is where people go to express themselves and have fun. This bohemian beach town is chock full of art venues overflowing with creative souls, trendy boutiques, and funky souvenir shops. Thrift shoppers will think they’ve died and gone to heaven with all the second-hand shops offering designer duds cheap! Walk the Venice Boardwalk, famous for its’ street performers and outdoor gym (Muscle Beach). Grab an outdoor table at a local café and enjoy some of the best people-watching California has to offer. The Venice Pier is the place for gorgeous sunset photos and boundless ocean views. After sundown, head to one of the several rooftop bars for cocktails and panoramas. Visit the Canal District, inspired by the original Venice, Italy. These man-made canals connect this affluent neighborhood, generating European feels.
