Niagara Falls has been ranked the best family vacation in Canada by U.S. News & World Report for its combination of affordability and entertainment value. The summer months of June, July and August are the most popular, so save some bucks by visiting in spring or fall. For cheap food, the area does have a lot of chains and fast food, but it’s also advisable to pack snacks while you walk around as the vendors aren’t cheap. Most of the attractions are within walking distance of each other, and there is a shuttle service. Driving is not recommended due to traffic congestion and parking fees. Other free attractions, besides the majestic falls, include the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, the Floral Clock, the Niagara Glen Nature Center, and driving, biking or walking the Niagara Parkway.
