The violent crime rate in Miami Beach is more than twice the national violent crime rate. Last year, the rape rate per 100,000 people was even higher than double the national average. Robberies per 100,000 were three times the national average. The assault rate was also double the national number. Thefts were almost three times as many.
Property crime in general was also three times as much. The crime statistics alone are enough to make Miami Beach the least desirable part in Florida, or even in the whole of America.
