Oklahoma comes in 5th for residents with shorter life spans. The life expectancy for residents of the state is 75.9 years. Oklahoma residents are in the top half of obesity prevalence with the state ranking 5th in the nation for the highest number of obese residents. About 30.3% of people in the state are either obese or near obesity. The state also ranks high among uninsured with about 25% of residents between ages 18 and 64 not having health insurance, which makes the state rank fifth in the nation for uninsured residents. The state ranks slightly above others when it comes to the number of residents with asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and cancer. Oklahoma ranks 45th in physicians per capita and fell below the national average for nurses per capita.
