7) Eat in Restaurants During the Day

When you’re traveling you’re always going to want to sample the local delicacies and get a taste of the local restaurant scene. Getting immersed in the culinary delights of a new place is one of the greatest pleasures of traveling, but eating out in restaurants every night costs a lot, even in places where the cost of living is fairly low. If you really want to eat in restaurants, do it during the day when you can have a large meal at lunch time and take advantage of lunchtime specials. The rest of the time, eat as the locals do and sample the street food, or if you’re somewhere street food is limited you can visit farmers markets or even supermarkets to buy picnic food that you can take with you when you sightsee. Another food-related tip is to rent a hotel or guesthouse room where breakfast is included and be sure to eat it all so you’re set up for the day.
