Created in 1905, the man-made canals of Venice, California were designed to resemble those of the city of Venice, Italy, complete with boats, canals and lovely bridges, which allow for walking over the waterways. Travelers love visiting this part of California because it offers a casual, laid back stroll through a beautiful neighborhood with enormous and beautiful homes perched along the canals. Residents never have to worry about traffic because many of the streets are pedestrian only.
