2) Switzerland
Switzerland is one of the most developed countries in the world and ranks highly economically, in civil liberties and in quality of life. It has universal healthcare in which all residents are required to purchase insurance from one of around 80 providers who cannot exclude anyone based on preexisting conditions. Though successful, it is one of the most expensive systems in the world. The average male lives to 81.3 and female to 85.3. There are many reasons the Swiss enjoy high levels of health. They place much importance on organic, locally-grown food, walking and other outdoor activities. In 2013, the UN rated it the third happiest country in the world and it has the eighth lowest rate of depression, as per the WHO. One area the Swiss didn’t fare so well was stress levels.
