2) Orange
This city makes the list because of its low unemployment and crime rates, great weather and wonderful facilities. Orange is a little over 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles, with a population less than 150,000. The city has consistently been ranked as one of the safest places to live in California, so it’s a great place to raise a family. It offers a wide selection of parks, lakes and nature centers, including a wildlife sanctuary. In the center of the city is Plaza Park and the Old Towne Orange Historic District, which serves as the home to cafes, shops and antique stores. This historic district has so many buildings of architectural interest that it merited the attention of the State Historic Resource Surveys. The city also serves as the location for many films, and television series, which means you might even get to see your favorite star while picking up your dry cleaning.
