5) Cinderella Castle, Orlando Florida
Although it’s made of fiberglass, it’s among the most famous castles in America. Located in the Magic Kingdom of Disney in Orlando, both real and fictional places inspired this fairy tale castle. Aside from Mickey Mouse, it’s Disney’s most famous icon as well. Children of all ages visit the Magic Kingdom. In fact, it welcomes an average of nearly 53,000 per day. It’s royal blue rooftop lures your eyes to the top of the castle as spires soar into the sky. Ornate turrets and twenty-seven towers adorn the castle creating its impressive silhouette. A wishing well, lush green grass and rose bushes add the finishing touches. On certain nights, the Cinderella Castle is illuminated with over 16 million colored lights just as the sun sets. During holidays and special occasions, the castle becomes a backdrop for an amazing kaleidoscopic light show set to music and fireworks displays.
