9) Overpacking
When you’ve got a big, empty suitcase it can be very tempting to fill it up. You must resist this urge! Not only will over-packing cost you more in overweight baggage fees, it will also be a pain to drag your heavy suitcase around after you. It’s difficult to know what to pack, especially when going somewhere you’ve never been before. While the appeal to pack an outfit for every occasion is understandable, try to refrain. Wander down that road and you’ll find yourself with 6 different pairs of shoes (completely unnecessary). Pack your essentials (toiletries’ underwear, etc.) and then your most versatile clothing. For example, pants that can be worn in both day and evening, and shirts that can easily be layered. Hint: Book hotels that have amenities like hair dryers, bathrobes, and slippers. This will make you feel at home without actually bringing home with you.
