Think: big crowds and busy public transports like buses, trains and their respective stations. Tourists usually stick out like a sore thumb and make easy targets for those looking to take advantage. Keep your wits about you and stay vigilant. Keep your money and important cards in a money belt under your clothing and never carry too much cash. Lock your passport in the hotel safe, if available, and carry a photocopy with you. If there’s no safe, keep it in your money belt and another anti-theft bag (check online for some cool options).
