6) Being Too Uptight
It’s your vacation. Resist the urge to run around like a mad person with an impossible agenda. This is not the best way to enjoy your holiday. Inconveniences, like a late bus, are typical delays you just have to deal with – especially when traveling in under-developed countries. Don’t expect to get an apology from the bus company, either! Just accept that you will get there, and there’s not much you can do to influence when. As a foreigner you run the risk of being targeted by dishonest locals. Getting ripped off by the taxi driver or scammed at a street market are possibilities. Just chalk it up to experience, and take care not to make the same mistake again. Huffing, puffing, and holding a grudge against a person, city, or country is not going to win you any battles. Let it go!
