9 Mistakes to Avoid When Traveling Overseas

2) Following an Overzealous Itinerary

Time is precious, so it’s understandable that you’d want to cram as much into your trip as possible. However, overbooking yourself increases stress and lessens the enjoyment of everything you’re doing. Crisscrossing a country or city to see it all will leave you feeling exhausted. Waking up at the crack of dawn to whiz through every attraction in the city does not a happy traveler make. Instead, take a more laid-back approach and aim to see no more than 2- 3 sites per day. Make sure to account for travel time between places, possible delays, and of course time to eat and drink. In other words, be flexible, go with the flow, and don’t freak out if plans change. It’s better to take your time and thoroughly enjoy each experience rather than rushing on to the next one.
