5) South Padre Island, Texas
Situated just off the southern coast of Texas, South Padre Island is a vacationerās paradise. Tropical yet developed, this two square mile piece of coastland is best traveled by foot and offers daytime, nighttime, relaxing and adventurous activities throughout the year.
It seems every beach destination offers some sort of boat and water sports rental which is nice but not that unique. So South Padre takes you to another level with intriguing adventures like dolphin watching and kite boarding. Out of the water, the island treats its visitors to horseback riding, golfing and some amazing bird watching.
Once the sun goes down, the night life gets pretty crazy here, especially if you visit during spring break when college students from all over arrive with one thing in mind, to have a good time. If you decide to follow the crowd, Tequila Sunset and Louieās Backyard are two of the most popular clubs on the island.
