3) Venice Beach, California
You’ve got to prepare yourself before hitting Venice Beach for the first time. Known partly from its “Muscle Beach” days, partly for the skater and basketball crowds and partly for its insane street performers, Venice has been made famous in countless movies and television shows. It’s the only place in the world you can see a bodybuilder in a Speedo walking a miniature dog next to a punk rocker and a family of trapeze artists.
Let’s not forget about the sand and the water, though. Venice has a lot of sandy real estate for people to lay their towel or post an umbrella. And the waves aren’t too small to enjoy some fun water play but aren’t so huge they are intimidating. Venice Beach will certainly give you stories to bring home and share with your family and friends.
