8) Central Park
If you want to spend some of your summer in New York City, you might want to consider visiting Central Park for the day. One of the park’s most well-known attractions is its zoo, where you can see a variety of animals you’d be unable to see elsewhere in the city. You can also walk around the garden areas or even ride a horse around. Central Park is particularly special in the summer months due to the extra events that take place there. For example, there is an annual film festival and a Shakespeare in the Park performance, so there are several opportunities for cultural immersion. There are also additional musical concerts throughout the warmer parts of the year. Another, perhaps unexpected, attribute of the park is Belvedere Castle, which has an observatory and theatre inside, as well as a turtle pond nearby.
