Located in the center of the state, Ithaca is a great jumping off point to visit many of New York’s attractions. Housing several colleges, including the prestigious Cornell University, gives Ithaca the “college town” feel. Ithaca is one of the best places in New York state to enjoy the great outdoors. There are over one hundred waterfalls in the area, including Taughannock Falls, which is taller than Niagara! Head to any of the state parks, or even into town, and you’re likely to stumble upon one. From Ithaca, the nearby Finger Lakes are easily accessible. Visit Cayuga, the largest of the eleven lakes. Swim, paddle, or boat your way around while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The Finger Lakes region is known for its excellent wine production. There are over twenty-five wineries around Cayuga Lake, making it the oldest and longest wine trail in the country.
